I really believe that text/SMS alerts for job seekers is much needed in the job board space. Especially for those boards that have a niche audience and do not aggregate thousands of job postings.

Open rates on text messages is much higher than email.

The only other job board that I am aware of that has had text alert capabilities was the now defunct HiringOpps. I was a customer of theirs a couple of years and it was a very cool feature.

With that said, my board never got much traction at the time and I did not have heavy usage so I am not sure how the costs of the text messaging would be handled, etc.
